Bertha Burton Obituary

BACKGROUND MUSIC: "The Prayer" Be sure your volume is on.

Bertha Lee Hersey Burton, 85, of Bryant passed on Saturday. She was born in Dumas, Arkansas to the late Virgil and Alberta Hersey Sr. She attended school and church in Dumas, she worked as a Certified Nurse's Assistant in the Dumas hospital. where she was a dedicated worker. Later, she moved into a position in the hospital's nursery where it was evident that she had a passion for children. She was a homebody, and didn't go many places. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting,  church activities, western television shows, she was supportive and a caregiver to her mother. Was she perfect? no, but MAMA was very stern, strong, firm and had unconditional love and she took nobody's side if you were wrong. Even though her health began to fail her, she still wore her beautiful smile. We'll miss her dearly, but we know that she will always be in our hearts and looking down on us. Mama, is now at peace, with no more sickness, pain or heartaches, no more troubles, no more trials. She's now free! Rest on mother, we love you. What you left us, no one can take away "FAMILY" God created FAMILIES, for His Glory. The significance of our relationship with family is regularly mentioned in scripture. Through the difficult and intense moments in our life, it is our family, similarly to God, that can provide comfort and reassurance. And moreover, when the members of our family are going through hardships we can and should provide assistance, the family should be a symbiotic  support system that strengthens and encourages each of its members.

Ephesians 3:14-15 "For this reason I bow my knee before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named."

Bertha Lee Hersey Burton, leaves to cherish her love, her laughter and her legacy; her daughters: Leola Hughes, Billy Garth, Mary Garth, Penny (Kevin) Richards,Devon Garth. Sons: Jessie (Margret) Smith, Ellis (Renee) Garth Jr. and a host of grand, and great, and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
