Dr. YVONNE REYNOLDS WAITS D.D. Obituary

Dr. Yvonne Marie "MONTY" Reynolds Waits D.D. 68, passed away peacefully on Thursday July 25, 2019 in a local transitional care facility in Austin, Tx  after a long battle with cancer. She was born on May 31, 1951 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Rev. James Earl and Bertha Lee Reynolds. To this union there were 5 children born, Yvonne being the youngest.  "Monty" as she was known by her classmates and family, was a graduate of Little Rock Central High School Class of 1969.

She received her Bachelor's Degree in music, she also received her Master's Degree in computer software from Ouachita Baptist University. Later, she met and married Walter Gene Waits, to this matrimony were born 2 sons; Daryl and Duane. She was the first African American Cheerleader and her brother James was a Running back (1971) and the first African American football player to graduate from Ouachita.  From 2009 – 2013 she earned her Bachelor’s in Metaphysical Science, (B.Msc.), and her Master’s in Metaphysical Science, (M.Msc.).

Her Master's thesis was titled “Pathways To Mind Transformation – A Biblical Perspective”. She culminated her higher education with a Doctor of Divinity Specializing in Bible Interpretation, her D.D. thesis was titled “Hidden From The Masses – Esoteric Fundamental Bible Truths” from the University of Sedona the worlds largest metaphysical university system.

Yvonne, also known as “Monty” was an ordained minister, independent scholar, a metaphysical light worker, and counselor to anyone who needed counsel. She enjoyed her moments with her grand kids, leisure time with her computer, traveling, reading, meditation, prayer, being the positive voice in all situations, and long spiritually guided talks with family and close friends. She was a seeker of truth and wanted everyone to find their peace and joy in life. She would say “Life is meant to be enjoyed and to always have Fun!” "Monty" enjoyed cooking and she was a good caregiver to our mother, she loved her family.

She grew up in St. Mark Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas. As part of her music ministry, she played the organ and the piano under Pastors; Dugger Johnson, Maurice Watson and Bishop Steven Arnold before moving to Austin, Texas. Oh, how she could make both of them talk back when she played them.

She was a computer analysis and programmer, and owned a computer programming and software company.

My mother was a true warrior for life. She was always a positive light for anyone she came into contact with.  She blessed us with her presence all the years she stayed with us over the last 10-15 years.  She was my editor and chief for all my master's degree school work publications I produced and she was a patient tutor for my three children as well.  She had an advanced mind for all things spiritual and I believe she was one of the great master teachers of spirituality that the world did not get a chance to hear.  My mother was a modern day philosopher that blessed us with her higher conscience wisdom and guidance. I am so thankful my brother and I were able to help her through her final years of life. All she wanted to do is live peacefully in her own place and study the mysteries of life.  In the end, she accomplished her goal.  Thank you "Momma" for all you did for us, we love you and miss you and you will never be forgotten.

Yvonne leaves to cherish her memories, her sons; Daryl (Barbara Ann) Waits of Austin, Texas. Duane (Keesha) Waits of Cedar Park, Texas.  and five grandchildren: Asia, Devyn, Scotte, Kenadi, and Elliot. Siblings; Eddie "Priss" Mae (Willie) Hill of Grove Town, Georgia. Jack (Anita) Reynolds of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Pauline Morris and Chaplain James W. Reynolds both of Little Rock, Arkansas and a host of other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death, by her parents; James and Bertha.
