Ella Mae Collins served as the Matriarch of the Collins Family for over 83 years.  Born August 4, 1934 in Wynne, Arkansas, Ella Mae transitioned to eternal peace on December 4, 2017.  As a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where Dr. F. T. Guy served as pastor, Ms. Collins accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age.  She firmly believed in the power of having a personal relationship with Christ.  Known as “Mae” to all who love her, she was committed to both family and work as priorities. After having attended Arkansas Baptist College, Ms. Ella Mae Collins served as a Clinical Diet Tech at St. Vincent’s Infirmary for over 33 years.  She took pride in her role as the eldest child of Floyd, Sr. and Sallie Mae Collins and in her role as the sister of George, Floyd, Jr., Elvin, John David, Reginald, and Ricky Collins.  She is survived by five children: Marcia Newborn, Rita Kameli, Michael Collins, Angela Harris, and Marc Collins; son-in-law, Louis Harris; daughter-in-law, Doris Collins; ten grandchildren: Danelle, Chinelo, Franklin, Jr., Tracy, Ashton, Amber, Jasmine, Antonio, Patrice, Bryant, and ten great grandchildren: Grant, Rachel, Dillan, Joshua, Kennedy, Barry, Abigail, Corbin, Shenesia, and Keithan.  A private celebration of life will take place for the immediate family to commemorate the life and legacy of a woman whose strength will continue to promote education, independence, and hard work for generations to come.
