Barbara Rhinehart Obituary

Mother Barbara Louise Rhinehart was born to Verbena Jones and Lawrence “LB” Rhinehart on March 27, 1933, in Benton, Ark. Mother Rhinehart grew up attending elementary school in a one room schoolhouse on Dixie Street in what is now known as the Ralph Bunche Community, she attended her Junior high and high school years in Baptist college in little Rock.
Mother Rhinehart worked for years as a laborer at the Alcoa Plant in Bauxite, Ark. Being among a pioneer group of females blazing a new chapter for women workers at Alcoa. Mother Rhinehart also worked as a loving caregiver for many years. Family and friends remember her for her very entertaining storytelling, of fond memories from her childhood and early adult years.
Mother Rhinehart attended Elect Temple C.O.G.I.C, her entire life starting out in the sunshine band under the direction of her aunt Ella Thompson and was a member of the motherboard until she was called home she was preceded in death by her mother and father as well as a loving stepfather (John Houston) and a great granddaughter Maliyah Woods.
She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Mary Susan Rhinehart and Bernetia Kay Rhinehart (Ashley); three sisters, Donna Rhinehart, Denise Rhinehart, and Avis Rhinehart; two brothers Lawrence Rhinehart Jr., and Darrell Rhinehart, all of Oakland, Calif. She also leaves behind three grandchildren, Aundalyse (Lysa) Luckett, Lauren E. Ashley, and Jordan Ashley. Mother Rhinehart also leaves behind 11 great-grandchildren, whom she regularly doted on and loved dearly; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside service 1 p.m. today Saturday December 4th at Woodlawn Cemetery in Benton. Kelly Smith Funeral & Cremation Services will be serving the Rhinehart families.
