CARL LOBLEY Obituary

Remembering His Journey
Carl Avonta Holmes Lobley, “Lil Carl” LC, was Born to Rose and Carl
Lobley in Chicago, IL at Bethany Hospital on July 24, 1994. The Family
moved to Minneapolis when he was about six months old. He was always a
very happy baby.
He attended Reuben Lindh Preschool and Risen Christ Elementary. For high
school he went to Holy Angels Academy for two years and graduated from
Washburn High School. He played basketball at both Risen Christ and Holy
Angels and wrestled at Powderhorn Park Community Center. Recently, he
was excited that he passed the exams for a carpentry class and looked
forward to working at a new trade.
At a young age, “Lil Carl” LC spent time with his parents who were working

in the community. Watching them, gave Carl a passion for working in com-
munity to serve others. One of one of his first jobs was with the “Step UP”

program where he worked summers for five years. He also worked alongside
his family at the Cultural Wellness Center. He had a passion for working with
youth and was a good leader. He loved working at the Boys and Girls Club
and had a special talent for making youth feel welcome wherever he worked.
At the Midtown Global Market, he was a tour guide and loved to work on
events. He loved R&B and Rap music and loved to be at parties with his
friends.
Carl leaves behind his mom and Best Friend, Rose (Lobley) Reece and her
husband, Keith Reece. He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Carl
Lobley, grandmothers Ruby Rent and Lorraine Lobley, Great Grandmother
and many aunts and Uncles. He is survived by his siblings Drakarr, Denzel
and Octavius Lobley, Sheneka Moore, Qadash (Freddie Lobley) Yasharahia,
Isabella and Jonah Mallon special cousins Ruby, Odessa and Toni, aunt,
Katherine Tawab; cousins, Labrena Rent and Colleen Rent; great aunt, Hazel
Rent; and many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his faithful pet,
“Osito”.
