CHARLESTON HANDLEY SR.

Charleston Handley Sr., 78, of Houston, Texas, went home to Glory Land.

"A CARPENTER'S LEGACY"

Charleston Handley Sr., was delivered into the loving hands of his parents Harvie and Crystal Handley on December 27th 1948 in Cornerville/Dermott, Arkansas.  He attended Morris  Elementary School, Chicot High School and graduated from Tillis High School. He continued his education and graduated from the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff. 

He was a faithful member of the Seven Star Missionary Baptist Church in Dermott, Arkansas under the leadership of Pastor, Rev. S.M. Taylor  He was very independent  even when health began to fail. Later in 2022, he moved to Houston, Texas to reside with his son Charleston Jr, until he transitioned into eternity on November the 8th. 

After high school, he joined the US Army, where he served his country for many years.
He was employed with the Arkansas CO OP. His passion was in carpentry and painting, which he was very good at doing. 

Daddy loved to talk to anyone who would listen, he played basketball all the way to the age of 58. He loved God, his family, basketball, boxing, dominoes, football, cooking, eating; buffalo fish especially the ribs, oxtails, greens and turkey legs was a favorite of his.  Fashion, oh wow that too was his passion. singing, well, now that was another thing for him too. By the way, he could blow a few notes while singing, last but not least, daddy was a Cadillac man, one after another. 

Daddy was a true disciplinarian, butt whooping, might as well get in line, he was a true teacher of God's word, no matter where he was or how he felt. But helping people was a priority for him, no matter how much it would cost him.  His favorite sayings were "FOOT ROOKIE & NONCHALANT." If you were around him, you would love him because that was the kind of spirit he carried. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him, because to know him, you would love him.Charles Handley Sr. is
