BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH
of
DOROTHY JEAN SIMS, was born to Harold Kimble and Eula Mae Story in Atkins, Ark. On November 11, 1962. Dorothy was an amazing woman, she was loved by all who knew her. Known best for her beautiful smile, uplifting spirit and the best greens in Little Rock. She graduated from Joe T. Robinson School of Little Rock, employed by the Residence Inn also of Little Rock for many years. While married to Wayne Sims, three wonderful children were brought forth to this union. Two sons who took good care of their mother while battling with her illness later in life. She will truly be missed. She was a very strong and independent woman who believed in working hard and playing harder. Always being the life of the party. She always wanted to be surrounded by her family and friends, she loved them more than anything other than God. Going fishing, and listening to her favorite Blues Artists were some of her enjoyable pastimes in her life. She shared a special bond with her nieces and nephews, always willing to share a kind word and encouragement. Treating everyone as her favorite, as she loved everyone so much and the same. She was the best Mother to her two sons; Jamile and Jonathon. While serving as President of the Missionary of her church New Jerusalem Christian Church in Little Rock under Pastor Robert E. Brooks, she remained faithful even unto death. Oh but while there, one of her dreams came to life. She WITNESSED her youngest son Jonathon, get baptized. This was something that brought tears to her eyes and joy to her heart. She was so proud of both her sons and loved them dearly. We lost a mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and a friend. But we gained an angel, for we believe that she is watching down on us from heaven. But, we know that to be absent from this body, is to be present with the Lord. Although we’ll miss her, as we already do. We know that all is well with her soul. Her battles were fought and the victory won, on April 26, 2016 as the Angel of the Lord opened the book of servants, and spoke with a soft voice, “servant of the Lord, you have fought a good fight, you kept the faith, NOW come home and get some rest. Well done thou good and faithful servant.” And she quietly transitioned from mortal to immortality.
