Delilah Cleaver Obituary

Mrs. Delilah Cleaver, 85,  went home to eternity on December 27, 2020 to be reunited with her loving husband,  PRESIDING ELDER CHARLES MACK CLEAVER, SR., who transitioned on December 15, 2020. Mrs. Delilah Cleaver was born May 23, 1935 in Roland Folk Mississippi. 

She accepted Christ at an early age and was united with Lee Chapel A.M.E. Church in North little Rock, Arkansas, located in the Military Heights Community.  Mrs. Delilah Cleaver attended school in the Little Rock School District.  Earned a Bachler Arts Degree from Baptist College in Little Rock, Arkansas.  Mrs. Cleaver worked for thirty years as a teacher in the Little Rock School District.  Sis. Cleaver was a choir member and served as youth director while attending Lee Chapel AME Church.  Sis.  Cleaver was a district consultant for the North Little Rock District of the AME Church in the Arkansas Conference.  She was a life Member of the Women’s Missionary Society, and she was active in the Ministers’ Spouses, Widows and widowers + PK’s organizations. 

On July 3, 1952, she married her soul mate Charles M. Cleaver, Sr.   To this union three Children were Born, Charles M. Cleaver III, Reginald Cleaver, Sr. (Dwana) and Christal Cleaver.  Mrs. Delilah Cleaver Loved to travel and attending the different meetings and confercences of the church and she loved working with children.  She was a devoted wife and her husband and a devoted mother to her Children.  She was devoted to the service of the Lord.

She was preceded in death, by her husband Presiding Elder Charles M. Cleaver, Sr., Father, Richard Coleman and Mother, Emma Howard.  She Leaves to Cherish her memory,  Sons Charles M. Cleaver III, Reginald Cleaver, Sr. (Dwana) Daughter Christal M. Cleaver. Grandchildren, Onjavahr Cleaver, Gequalon Cleaver, Simuel Overall, Elyse J. Cleaver, Reginald Cleaver, Jr. Timothy J. Cleaver, Chicarra R. Cleaver, and Mariah J. Vines.  Great-Grandchildren and a host of cousins and friends.

Kelly Smith Funeral & Cremation Services (8424 Kanis Road * 501-612-5607 Little Rock Arkansas) will be serving the Cleaver families. 

Sunday January 3, 2021: 

Walk through viewing from 12:00 - 3:00pm at the funeral home's O.T. Smith Memorial Chapel, 

Walk through visitation from 5 - 6pm,                                                                         

Family hour 6 - 7pm, (both will be at Lee Chapel A.M.E Church 421 W. 22nd Street North Little Rock, Arkansas)

 

Monday January 4, 2021: 

The funeral service will be 11:00 at Moody Chapel A.M.E. Church 5630 Mabelvale Pike (just off South University and Mabelvale). The interment will be 2:30pm at Pinecrest Memorial Park 7401 (Stagecoach Road South) Highway 5 in Alexander, AR.

We will be practicing  COVID-19 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS!
