Erma Lee Davis, 73, of North Little Rock, Arkansas, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 13, 2026, at Baptist Health Hospital in North Little Rock,
Arkansas. She was born on July 16, 1952, in England, Arkansas, to the late Scid and Elma Perry Howard.
Erma Lee Davis was Baptist by faith. She attended Gartrell High School in England, Arkansas, where she was known as a beautiful social butterfly. During her time there, she served as captain of the cheerleading squad and was crowned homecoming queen.
She later dedicated her time to Park Hill Baptist Church in North Little Rock, Arkansas, and retired in 2013. Her unwavering love never ceased to amaze those around her. She loved her family wholeheartedly and was a devoted wife for many years, as well as a mother who deeply cherished her children. Erma not only raised her own children but also helped care for
children within her extended family.
Her love was selfless, and her nurturing spirit reflected the true love God placed in her heart. She was strong and courageous like a lioness, overcoming many of life’s challenges. She never gave up, even in moments of exhaustion—her unwavering faith carried her through. A true prayer warrior, she often encouraged others to seek God in everything and to always put Him first.
Erma had an unmatched sense of humor that could lift spirits in an instant. She loved laughing, singing, fishing, knitting, attending church, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends. In her later years, she enjoyed going to the casino, embracing that time of rest and enjoyment, something she truly deserved.
Like many of us, all Erma wanted was to be seen, heard, and loved, but most importantly, she wanted her family to love one another.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Blanchie Brown of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Dorothy Rhodes and Janice Cloird of Oakland, California; four brothers, Albert, Robert, Lorenzo, and Scid Howard Jr., all of England, Arkansas; and one granddaughter, Aleisha Walton of North Little Rock, Arkansas.
Erma is survived by her children: three daughters, Dawanda Ridgle and Demechee Davis of North Little Rock, Arkansas, and Lashandria Walton of Anoka, Minnesota; and two sons, David Ridgle (wife Sammie) of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, and Alfred Turner (wife Tammy) of Malvern, Arkansas.
She is also survived by one brother, Willie C. Baker (wife Annie) of Oakland, California; one sister, Heddy Wesley of Tucker, Arkansas; and siblings Gwendolyn Jackson (husband Donnie) and Gloria Days (husband Van), both of North Little Rock, Arkansas.
She leaves behind nine grandsons: Cedric Cooper, Jimmy Jones, Deshun Utsey, Shuntavious Handley, David Ridgle Jr., Javion Jones, Jeremiah Dobbins, Preston and Parker Turner; three granddaughters: Ebony, Alexis, and Lushunna Walton; 14
great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.
Poem:
"When Tomorrow Starts Without Me"
When Tomorrow Starts without me
Please Try to understand
That an angel came and called my name
And took me by the hand
The angel said my place was ready
In Heaven far above
And That I would have to leave behind
All those I Dearly Love
But When I walked through
Heaven’s Gates
I felt so much at home
When God looked down and
Smiled at me, and told me
“Welcome Home.”
So when Tomorrow starts without me,
Don’t think we’re far apart,
For every time you think of me,
I’m right there in your heart.
