Frank Davis Jr. was born on July 10, 1948, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to the late Blanchie Dupree Davis and Frank Davis Sr.
At an early age, Frank accepted Christ and developed a strong foundation of faith. He remained steadfast in his beliefs throughout life, holding firmly to his faith through every struggle and obstacle he encountered.
Frank proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1968 to 1972, where he held the rank of E-4 Sergeant and worked in distribution. Following his military service, he dedicated many years to his professional career, including 28 years at Central Distribution Center. He later worked at Pat Salmon & Sons from 2000 to 2007.
Outside of his work, Frank found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He was an avid bowler, earning 2 rings over the years. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing softball. A devoted sports fan, he especially loved the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Frank Davis Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, Blanchie Dupree Davis and Frank Davis Sr.; his sisters, Marguarite Jones and Barbara Mays; and his brothers, Bobby D. Davis and James R. Davis Sr.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his devoted wife, Carol Davis; two daughters, Leslie Davis and Layah Davis; one son, Frank Davis III; three brothers, Joe Davis Sr. (Anne), Eugene Davis (Fay), and Charles Davis (Deborah); three sisters, Rosemary Davis-Waller, Beatrice McVay, and Mae Frances Seawood (Ricky); four grandchildren, Braylon Davis, Lee Oliver III, Leeyah Oliver, and Levi R. Frank Oliver; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will continue to honor his love, life, and legacy.
Poem From Daughter (Leslie) :
Forever My Anchor
Your voice still speaks, a quiet guiding light,
A compass in the storm, even in the night.
You built a foundation, strong and deep,
With loving memories for us to keep.
The ship may sail, but your love stays fast,
A lasting anchor, built to last.
Though you are gone, you are not far,
You’re still my guide, my North Star.
Leslie
Poem From Daughter (Layah):
You may have thought I didn’t see,
Or that I hadn’t heard,
Life lessons that you taught to me,
But I got every word.
Perhaps you thought I missed it all,
And that we’d grow apart,
But Dad, I picked up everything,
It’s written on my heart.
Without you, Dad, I wouldn’t be
The woman I am today;
You built a strong foundation
No one can take away.
I’ve grown up with your values,
And I’m very glad I did;
So here’s to you, dear father,
From your forever grateful kid.
Layah
Poem From Grandchildren:
Grampa
We’ll always remember
that special smile,
that caring heart,
that warm embrace,
you always gave us.
You being there
for Grandma and us
through good and bad times,
no matter what.
We’ll always remember
you Grampa because
there’ll never be another one
to replace you in our hearts,
and the love we will always
have for you.
Your loving grandkids
Poem From Wife:
I Remember You
Early in the morning when the birds sing, Light to this world the sun brings, When the
dew drops look like pearls shine, 1 remember you in this heart of mine.
When the sky is covered with a blanket of clouds, The lightning strikes and the thunder
is loud, When the whole world becomes drenched in rain time, I remember you in this
heart of mine.
When flowers bloom in the spring season, And smiles break out for no reason, For
happiness when the weather is kind, I remember you in this heart of mine.
When the ground is full of dried leaves in fall, Of different colors from trees so tall,
Seeing people enjoy themselves while they dine, I remember you in this heart of mine.
In the winter when coldness is all around, And fog comes out of mouths instead of
sound, Looking at the decorated trees so fine, I remember you in this heart of mine.
During those cozy full moon nights, When a cool breeze sends up chills of delight,
Noticing the empty seat by my side, 1 remember you in this heart of mine.
With bare feet / walk on the grass, And relive the days that now have passed, While
listening to music that Sounds divine, I remember you in this heart of mine...
