I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: II Timothy 4:7
Gwendolyn Carol Gray was born March 8, 1949 to Omar and Irene Gray in Benton, Arkansas. She made her transition to reward May 1, 2020.
She attended Ralph Bunche School and graduated from Benton Senior High School in 1965. She was a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps and was employed with Baptist Medical Center as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). She was a Peyton Manning fan from the Colts to the Broncos, she followed him diligently.
Gwendolyn Carol will be best remembered for her love of God and her service in the church and community. She was an advocate for the community by attending city council and neighborhood meetings. She loved young people and tried to positively influence young men and women who visited her frequently.
Carol attended Elect Temple Church Of God In Christ (COGIC) all her life, serving in many capacities and a member of various auxiliaries over the years. She served as Church Recorder, Secretary for the Women’s Department and Sunday School, Program Committee Chairperson, a member of Hospitality Team, Health Team, Vice President of the Deaconesses and later appointed to the Mother’s Board. Mother Gwendolyn Carol Gray served faithfully until the Lord called her home. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Modessa Butler.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Kent (Michelle) Gray of Frostburg, Maryland and Adrian Gray of Benton, Arkansas; one grandson, Adrian Gray Jr; cousins, the Elect Temple Church Of God In Christ membership, Ralph Bunche Community and friends.
