HOWARD "CHIP" TYLER

Howard Douglas “CHIP” (the nickname given to him by his mom, because he was always a chipper child) Tyler was born on September 7, 1959 to the late Victor Tyler Sr. & Colleen Tyler
in Pacoima (Los Angeles County). He Graduated high school. He was employed at Raytheon.

Although he was not a member of a particular church, he and his family would fellowship with various churches, He did accept Christ as his Savior. Later as the years went by, after knowing Shawnica Jones and her family for many years. He and Shawnica decided to date for a while. On June 14, 2008, he and Shawnica were united in holy matrimony by their aunt, the Rev. Rosalyn Kyle Smith – Brookins, and have been in love for 17+ years. During these 17+ years, they have shared together, LOVE, GOD, HOPE, PRAYERS, family, friends, enemies, trials tribulations, hospital rooms, surgeries, tears, fears, laughter, joy, peace ups and downs, sicknesses, kidneys, losses, you see, this is, truly a real love story that God himself joined together and no man put asunder! Oh, the list goes on and on. Let’s share the fun and wow factors of a true love story. 

Chip and Shawnica did everything together from biking, bowling, going to the gun range and going to the movies. He loved watching tennis and he loved to watch scary movies with
Shawnika, they loved to go to the theaters and watch good movies. He loved sports, basketball with the Lakers and football with the Raiders, hiking, camping, bowling, going to antique or
classic car shows, collecting guns, knives, and all kinds of black figurines etc.

He and his Queen often went to his two favorite game shows such as "Let's Make A Deal" and "The Price Is Right" and watched them on tv, although they never won anything. Yes, the list
continues with true love and unity. Going on cruises was a passion for him and his family. They would work out and go to eat at nice restaurants.

Howard loved the Volkswagen “Beetle, Bugs” cars, both of them loved large size dogs as you see. But most of all, he loved being a GREAT husband to Shawnica and father to his two
wonderful and handsome sons, Demetrius and Jordan very much and he loved and enjoyed hanging with family. His favorite saying was: “That’s what she said.”

Howard Douglas Tyler, is preceded in death by his parents, and a sister; Lisa Tyler. “CHIPSTER” (a nickname that his mother in-law gave him because he loved to stir up
conversations with her in rhythms), leaves to cherish his love, legacy, and life; his stepmother; Lillie Tyler, beautiful wife; Shawnica, mother In-Law; Terryland Pha Jones, two sons; Dmitrius
and Jordan Tyler, his daughter in-law; Natalie Ochoa and two grandchildren; Santino & Mona. two sisters; Victoria and Vasha Tyler, his brother; Victor Tyler, two brothers in-law; Shannon
(Emilie) Jones, Kedron (Anna) Jones, one sister in-law; Denise Tyler, his niece; Deja Miller & nephew; Tyler Alemayehu, one aunt; Jackie Tyler, one uncle; Lima and a host of relatives and
friends.

The final chapter of this love story was written on April 26, 2025. When Howard Douglas “CHIP” Tyler transitioned from Alpha to Omega in Long Beach, California. A True Love Story
never ends.
