Jina Evette Evans was born on August 21, 1958, in St. Louis, MO. She was raised by her parents, the late Johnie and Viola Lawrence, in North Little Rock, AR. On June 15, 1974, she married Norman Lee Evans, Jr., and together they had three children: Michael (Monica) Evans, Norman (Kamesha) Evans III, and Yasheka (Raul) Baker.
Jina had a passion for cooking and dreamed of owning her own restaurant and food truck. She worked at the Arkansas School for the Deaf and served as a Deputy Sheriff for Pulaski County. Throughout their lives, Norman and Jina were relocated to several states, where they formed lasting friendships. Known for her love of serving others and her sense of humor, Jina touched the lives of many.
She embraced her faith at an early age, becoming a member of the 'old' McAlmont Church of Christ on Forrester Road in North Little Rock, AR. In 2015, she placed her membership to serve at the Colonel Glenn Church of Christ, where she actively participated in various church activities and was dearly loved by the congregation. Jina leaves to cherish her memory her husband, children and grandchildren, (Destiny, Mykah, Joseph, Madisyn, Corey, Arianna, Makinlee, Raul Nicholas, Madden, Manning), whom she loved very much and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
