Jimmie Lee Anthony was born July 9, 1933 in Brinkley, Arkansas. He was an only child of Mae Ella Terry and M.P. Anthony.
He was called home to rest on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 6:00am at The Springs of Premier Health & Rehabilitation in North Little Rock, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Pearlie Anthony.
On June 17, 1956, Jimmie married Pearlie Buchanan, his wife of 56 years. They were blessed with six beautiful loving daughters; Shirley, Barbara, Mary, Suzanne, Yvonne, and Patty.
Jimmie worked at General Industries(GI) in Forrest City, Arkansas until it closed. He later moved to Little Rock, Arkansas and gained employment in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Where he worked as security guard until he retired.
Jimmie cherished his family, especially when there was something to celebrate.
He liked driving nice cars, listening to Blues, watching westerns. Basketball and football was one of his favorite pastime events. But most of all, he enjoyed playing cards, especially spades.
He leaves not to mourn, but to cherish his fond memories of his living; his six daughters: Shirley (Roy) Daniels, Barbara Jones, Mary Anthony, Suzanne (Clint) Williams, Yvonne (Calvin) Agnew, and Patty (Marvin) Ashford. 14 grand children: Pierre, Melanie, Stephen (Shana), Katrina, Roy Jr., Victoria, Kadedra (Chanel), Marquis (Rayven), Marvin III, Patricia (A.doo), Matthew, Miriam, Mitchell, and Patrick. 9 great-grand children: Jasmine, Car'Reona, Sean, Sharmayne, Shanae, Simeon, Stephanie, Amirah, and Amara. 2 great great grand: Baleigh, and Avereigh and a special sister inlaw; Irvy Jean Sargent, along with a great host of other relatives and friends.

Poem:
"When Tomorrow Starts Without Me"
When Tomorrow Starts without me
Please Try to understand
That an angel came and called my name
And took me by the hand
The angel said my place was ready
In Heaven far above
And That I would have to leave behind
All those I Dearly Love
But When I walked through
Heaven’s Gates
I felt so much at home
When God looked down and
Smiled at me, and told me
“Welcome Home.”
So when Tomorrow starts without me,
Don’t think we’re far apart,
For every time you think of me,
I’m right there in your heart.
