Lonnie Travis Davis, lovingly known as " L.T." was born on March 9, 1944 to the late Goodwill and Vertha Mae Davis. As a child, as in life, he was strong willed, mischievious, kind hearted, generous and fun. As a boy, LT attended St. Phillips A.M.E. Church in Magnolia, AR. He accepted Christ in 1973 at the Greater Friendship Baptist Church undeer the Pastoral leadership of Rev. Cato Brooks. He later became a longtime member of the Greater Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church of Sweethome, AR under the leadership of his loving brother and Pastor Rev. Booker T. Davis. where he remained a faithful member until his death.
Always the extrovert, LT loved to cook, laugh, watch movies, listen to the blues and entertain the family and friends. he had a passion for life and could always be seen smiling, telling jokes, or rattling off smart mouthed retorts.
After an extensive bout with cancer, LT succumbed to his illness, and departed this life on September 28, 2014 at 6:38 p.m. surrounded by his loved ones.
He is preceded in death by his Wife; Glendora Davis, Parents, Stepmom; Mary Lee Davis, Elder Brother; Willie Davis and Son; Brian Purifoy.
He leaves his Brothers; Pastor Booker (Jorene) Davis, Stanley and Herbert Claiborn, Sisters; Bertha Brewster, Louise Harden, Tatia McBride, Claudean Kitchens and Linnie Wells, Daughter; Sonya R. Davis, Granddaughters; Amberia Lemons, Mya Purifoy, Memori Davis, Ciara Purifoy, Grandson; Demetrius Purifoy, a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends to celebrate his life, and mourn his memory.
