Martha “Sista” / "Granny" Williams, 86 of Little Rock, Arkansas passed away
peacefully on Saturday, June 4, 2016, with her family surrounding her.
Ms. Williams was born to the late Herman and Malisie Williams in Moro (Oak Forest), Arkansas where she attended school. She was a faithful member of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church on Highway 121 North, until her health began to fail. Later moving to Little Rock, AR to stay with her daughter Zenobia (Rev. Claborne). While residing in Little Rock she attended Second Baptist Church with her family under Pastor Dr. Kevin A. Kelly. "Sista" and "Granny" as she was often called by those who knew and loved her, will be greatly missed, but we know to be absent from this old breaking down body, is to be present with the Lord in a new body. Ms. Williams is survived by four daughters; Bethena (Robert) Scott of Marianna, AR. Zenobia (Rev. Claborne) Gillespie of Little Rock, Arkansas, Johnnie Warren of North Richland Hills, TX and Martha (Eric) Smith of Mansfield, TX. Three bonus daughters; Carolyn (Charles) Stanley of Marion, AR, Kalisha Henry of Fayetteville, AR and LaToya Henry of Arlington, Texas.
Three sons; Calvin Warren of St. Louis, MO, John (Freddie Mae) and Don Warren both of Little Rock, AR. One Brother; James (Hazel) Williams, Chicago, IL
20 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren and a host of other Relatives and Friends.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday, June 10th from 11:00 am until 2:00pm at the Walter Gillespie Memorial Chapel (Gillespie & Kelly Funeral Home 2420 Arch Street, LR), Family will receive guests at the family Hour 6 to 7 p.m. at Second Baptist Church, 6111 W. 83rd St. Little Rock, AR
Funeral Services are Saturday, at 11 a.m. at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Moro / Oak Forest, AR
Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Highway 121 North Across the street from the church.
Repass following services at the Moro Community Center.
