Don Edward May, Sr., the son of Embry and Lucille Harris May,
was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, on December 20, 1948. He was
the youngest of two children. His mother and father preceded him
In death. Don and his mother moved to Saint Louis , Missouri, where he

was  enrolled in the public schools; he graduated from high school in 1967.
Due to mother's illness,Don went to live with Charles and Mary

Maul who raised him like a son.
He joined the United States Air Force after graduating from high school
and retired as a Master Sergeant after 22 years and 7 months of service.  He was a

Computer Systems Supervisor and traveled to numerous Air Force   bases including Little Rock AFB,

to provide training to others in the computer field. He received many medals including the
Air Achievement ,Organizational Excellence, Good Conduct, Longevity
and others too numerous to mention.
He met and married his first wife, Linda Nelson, while in the Air Force.
To this union two children were born: Don May Jr. (Doni) and Tieela
(Ti). Don and Linda were married for 26 years.
After many years he met and married Esther (Penny) Lewis.

Penny had a son (Connell Hudson) who Don accepted as his own.

Penny was a devoted wife and partner to Don through his long illness and until his death.
Don transferred his church membership to Ecclesia Christian Fellowship, so he and Penny could fellowship together.
Don leaves to cherish his loving memories: his wife, Esther (Penny) May; his children, Don May, Jr. of Oxnard, California, and Tieela Vigil (Jimmy Vigil) of Ventura,California ; son Connell Hudson (Melissa Hudson) of Maryland; sister, Ann Gilkey (Henry Gilkey) of Sherwood, Arkansas; members of Lee Chapel A.M.E. Church NLR

foster brother, Gerald Smith; Williamsport, Penn.; grandchildren, Dominique, Kiana,Isaiah, and Mia Linda; an aunt, Ruthie McCoy, St. Louis (93 yrs old), best friends James Leflore and William Johnson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
 

Gone but not forgotten

Funeral Wednesday 9:30 a.m. at Ecclesia Christian Fellowship Church San Berardino. Services entrusted to Emmerson-Barlett Memorial (Redlands Location) Chapel, Interment will follow at 12:15 in Riverside National Cemetery.  Local announcement by Gillespie & Kelly Funeral Home (Kelly Smith Funeral Director).
