Life & Times of Patricia Ann Ashley.
Patricia A. Ashley was born April 22, 1949 in Benton, Arkansas to Hermon W. Ashley and Geraldine S. Morrison.
Patricia was a fun loving and happy person full of life and living all her days like she was the queen of the ball. She was giving and always willing
to share whatever she could with someone that was less fortunate than herself. Patricia gave her life to Christ at a very early age. She was baptized at St
Paul Baptist Church in Benton, AR.
In her early years she worked in the church as a junior usher and sang in the choir. She graduated from Ralph Bunche High School where she was a cheer
leader and student council member. She didn't go immediately to college but went to nursing school. She worked in nursing for over 27 years and
retired from the State Hospital of Arkansas. Later she would work and go to Philander Smith College. After very hard work she would earn her bachelor of Arts degree. During that time, she would also pledge to Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority known around the world as AKA.
Life would lead her to a place of activism. She would lead voter drives and promote candidates that were unconsidered unconventional, but she would put her full strength into the campaigns.
Pat liked to write praise and worship songs and she would always sing them to family and friends. In her later years of life Patricia became increasingly devoted to searching for the truth of Jesus Christ. She would spend her time and energy delving into the bibles that she had collected from many different cultures and religious denominations.
Her favorite book was Psalms and number 28 would stand out as her go to Psalm. She would gladly recite it for you and proudly say "that something ain't it. Patricia is preceded by: Father Hermon Ashley Sr., Mother Geraldine Morrison, Brother Hermon W. Ashley Jr., Brother Donald R. Morrison.
