RAY MONTGOMERY Obituary

RAY MONTGOMERY, 64 of Woodson/Little Rock, transitioned into eternity on September 5, 2024 while at his home. Ray Anthony Montgomery was born June 24,1960 the seventh of eight children of the late Mr. William Montgomery Sr and Mary Montgomery. Ray departed this life September 5th, 2024. He was preceded in death by his eldest sister Linnie Linsy and son Ryan Montgomery.  Ray’s childhood was spent in the community of Woodson Arkansas. He confessed a love of Christ at an early age at First Missionary Baptist Church of Woodson. Ray rededicated his life and continued his Christian development at Grace Church under Pastor Tommy Jones. 

Ray graduated from Wilbur D. Mills High School in 1978. He played basketball, football, and baseball. After high school, Ray served in the Army. He Held a variety of jobs. Ray was a friendly and fun-loving guy. He made friends easily and rarely met a stranger. He always greeted everyone with a big smile. One of Ray’s greatest strengths was his love of family. Whether known as son, brother, father, husband, uncle, or friend; Ray’s love had its own language. Ray’s memories will be cherished by two daughters Rae Lashelle Montgomery of Nashville, TN. and Whitleigh Montgomery of Little Rock, AR. Three grandchildren Quinci Scott, Zoie Saine and Chandler McKay- Montgomery. Four brothers William(Pat), Ulysses(Laura), and Timothy Montgomery of Little Rock, AR and Christopher Montgomery (Lucille) of Woodson, AR. Two sisters Rose Williams of Little Rock,AR and Anita Kelly of Woodson, AR. Two aunts Leonia Montgomery of Seattle, Washington and Ruth Burton of Pasadena, California and a host of nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends. Services are scheduled for Friday September 13th. Visitation will be 10:00 -11:00 a.m., celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. Both services will be at Grace Church East End 24300 Hwy 167 Hensley, AR
