                                   “A Letter to Momma”

Little did we know that morning God was going to call your name,
In life we loved you dearly; in death we do the same. Sometimes we
often wonder, how did you find the energy to do the things you did to
be a teacher, nurse, and a counselor to all 7 kids.
Although, you may have been exhausted you found the time to be a
playmate I just can’t comprehend. I see now it was love that made you
come whenever we called, your inexhaustible love, we thank you for it
all.

It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone.
For part of us went with you, the day God called you home. For
Michael and Bryant will be waiting for you at the gate with a smile so
big.
You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide,
and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side
Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same,
But as God call us one by one, the chain will link again.

To My Wife Ruby (love Letter)

59 year of marriage my life will never be the same. Through Good time and bad times,
you never left my side. I thank you for your endless love that will help me through each
day and thank you for the memories that will never fade away.
You know me better than anyone else and loved me for who I am. Our love made it
through the test of time and now my best friend is gone. I miss the days we were together,
the joy and laughter we shared.
Every day I count my blessings because the love you gave me was true, then God
called you home and took the love I knew. Although, there is no time to say farewell, no
man knows the day nor the hour that God will call you home, I thank him for my Queen
who kept the family strong.
So suddenly my life of gladness turned to utter sadness. My Grief is wearing me down
as I shed so many tears, as I recall your love and devotion though the many years.
Though Heaven and Earth divide us, and the distance is so great, I count my blessings
for the years you were my soulmate.

P.S. from your husband I LOVE YOU.
Ozell Bo Starks Sr.
