Sidney Lea age 75 passed away August 22, 2023. Sidney was born on August 4, 1948 in Scott, Arkansas to the late Lee Turner Lea and Vessie Jordan. Sidney is preceded in death by: his Parents, Brothers; Freddie, Arthel, Samuel, Raymond, Kenneth, Thomas and Willie LEA, Sisters; Anna Brooks and Joyce Turner. and Daughter; Shuntae Strong.

In 1976 Sidney married Jerry Brooks in Little Rock,  Arkansas. They were happily united for 49 yrs. Sidney worked years for Farmers Supply in England, Arkansas as a truck driver. After retirement his entrepreneurial skills began to blossom and he started a few ventures. He also worked part time with Lewis Towing, where he gained a second family.

Sidney was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1985. He loved the ministry and talking about the Bible with others. Sidney was family oriented and truly loved everyone he considered as family. He was very outgoing and had a good sense of humor. Sidney enjoyed riding his motorcycles and was a pro on the pool table. Family and friends were always closest to his heart. He had a smile that was out of this world and he made you feel like you were very special to him. Lastly, Sidney would give you his last dollar if you needed it, one of his favorite terms of agreement was “Hello!” 

Mr. Lea is survived by: his Wife; Jerry Lea, of Scott, AR. Children; Patrice (Ralph) Hopes of St. Louis, MO., Veronica (Myrl) Lee Indianapolis, IN., Denita (James) Arnold of Cabot, AR., Louis (Cheryl) Lea England, AR., Ernestine Brewster of Jonesboro, AR., Sheena Brooks of Highland Heights, KY., Lucinda (Gary) Solee of North Little Rock, AR., Sitraya (Carl) Beasley of Little Rock, AR. Siblings; Mary (Herbert) Adair of North Little Rock, AR., Perry (Choela) Lea of North Little Rock, AR, L.V. (Lucill) Lea of Scott, AR. and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services are as scheduled: A walk-through viewing 5-6 p.m. Sunday, August 27th, at O.T. SMITH Memorial Chapel/KELLY SMITH FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICES, 8424 Kanis Road, Little Rock (501-612-5607). Funeral 1 p.m. Monday, August 28th, Kingdom Hall Of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2119 Wolfe Street, Little Rock.
