STANLEY JAMES

Stanley James, born January 9, 1962 at UAMS Hospital in Little Rock, AR to the late Marvin James Sr. and Lucille James. Stanley confessed a hope in Christ at an early age under the leadership of Rev. Rufus Reynolds of the Gumwood Baptist Church of Keo, Arkansas.

He enlisted in the United States Navy in December of 1983 and served for 10 years. Settling in Little Rock for a few years and working as a car salesman. He united with St. Mark Baptist Church of Little Rock under the leadership of Rev. Steven Arnold.

He later moved to Memphis, Tennessee where he met and married Althea Gibson and from there they moved to Cairo, Egypt and from Egypt to Germany and from there back to the United States, eventually settling in Raleigh/Durham area of North Carolina. He continued working in the car business where he was promoted to finance manager and then to sales
manager (which was his true calling).

Stanley was preceded in death by his father, Marvin James Sr. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Lucille James Jeffrey, stepfather Lee Jeffrey Sr.; siblings, Marvin James Jr., Debbie (Ronnie) Hall, Reginald James, and Marlon James; step-siblings, Lamont Neal, Lee Jeffrey Jr., Carol (Daryl) Pickens, and Candace (Kevin) McKeever; play sister Alice Williams; a special friend Diedre Holmes; and a host of nieces and nephew, cousins and loving relatives and friends.

One of his favorite scriptures Joshua 1:9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
