TERRI STINSON Obituary

(VIDEO COMING SOON)

Terri Andrea Rhodes Stinson, 60, of North Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. Terri was born on December 7, 1965, in North Little Rock, Arkansas, to Elizabeth Rhodes and Elijah Rhodes Jr.

She accepted Christ at an early age and carried her faith with her throughout her life. She was a faithful member of King Solomon Baptist Church until her health begin to fail.

In February 1988, Terri married, and from this union she was blessed with twin sons, Travone and Travonte Stinson, who were the pride and joy of her life. Terri’s life journey took her to many places, including Japan, Germany, and Abilene, Texas, before she returned home to North Little Rock in 2008.

Terri attended Ole Main High School (North Little Rock High School) and graduated with the Class of 1984. She went on to pursue her passion for children by studying Applied Science in Early Childhood Development at the University of Central Arkansas and Pulaski Technical College, where she earned her Associates Degree.

Terri devoted her career to caring for and educating children. She worked at Little Rock Air Force Base as the Director of the Infant Toddler Center, a role she held with dedication and compassion until her retirement in 2016.

After retiring, she continued her service by working at The Teachers’ Pet Preschool and Infant Center in               North Little Rock and by opening her heart and home as a foster mother through the Arkansas Department of Human Services.

In 2016, Terri courageously faced her first battle with cancer and received a stem cell transplant from her brother Gregory. In April 2025, the cancer returned. After a brave and steadfast fight, Terri made her peaceful transition on December 26, 2025.

Terri was preceded in death by her father, Elijah Rhodes Jr.; brother, Roderick Rhodes; sister, Tracy Rhodes-Stuart; grandparents Elijah Rhodes Sr., Martha Rhodes, George Washington Sr., and Ora Blair; and uncles George Washington Jr. and Walter Johnson Sr.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her sons, Travone and Travonte Stinson; her mother, Elizabeth Rhodes; her siblings, Steven Rhodes, Gregory Rhodes (Rashawn), Tamara Williams (Maurice), Jacqueline Rhodes and Taronda Calvin; her best friend, more like a sister, Denise Gaynor; her very special uncle, Donald Rhodes (Dolly); her godson, Antonio Pleasant; and a host of nieces, nephews, family members and special friends.

Terri will be remembered for her loving spirit, unwavering faith, and deep commitment to nurturing and caring for others, especially children. Her legacy of love, service, and strength will live on in all who knew and loved her.

A Memorial Service to Celebrate Her Life will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, 11:00 a.m., at King Solomon Baptist Church, 1304 Pine Street, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72114.

A repast will immediately follow the service at New Zion Temple Ministry International, 8228 Hills Road, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72117.

Forever loved and deeply missed.

Poem:

"When Tomorrow Starts Without Me"

When Tomorrow Starts without me
Please Try to understand
That an angel came and called my name
And took me by the hand
The angel said my place was ready
In Heaven far above
And That I would have to leave behind
All those I Dearly Love
But When I walked through
Heaven’s Gates
I felt so much at home
When God looked down and
Smiled at me, and told me
“Welcome Home.”
So when Tomorrow starts without me,
Don’t think we’re far apart,
For every time you think of me,
I’m right there in your heart.
