VERLIAN HARRIS Obituary

(WATCH THE 13 MINUTE VIDEO AT THE BOTTOM)

Verlian Williams Harris  was born August 2, 1937, in North Little Rock, AR. to Penny and George Williams. She departed this life on January 2, 2023, in North Little Rock, AR, at home. She was preceded in death by both parents and siblings Joseph Williams, Roosevelt Williams, Mary McGraw, Pearline Powell, and Sybil Lee East. She was preceded in death by two sons; George Harris, Joe Harris and one
daughter; Vera Harris.

Verlian graduated with a High School Diploma. She was a housekeeper for a hotel. Later she became a housewife and ran a daycare out of her home. She united in marriage to George Harris, to this union 6 children were born. She loved church, cooking, and kids. She always cooked a big soul food dinner on Sunday. All the family would meet there, and everyone would get along.

We danced, talked, and always checked on one another because mom wouldn’t have it any other way. She was always kind and made sure no one was hungry. She loved to cook everything, especially chicken and dumplings and fried chicken. She would sell pies and cakes and we always had a cake on the table. She was a wonderful woman, mother, sister, aunt, and cousin.  She also loved shopping and the movies. She was awesome. She was a virtuous woman.

She leaves to cherish her memory, children: Joann (Donnie) Bush, Janice (Larry) Neyland, Wanda J. Lee (Fiancé David Turner). She is also survived by her sibling, George (Versie) Harris, grandchildren Katrina Emmitt, Timothy Emmitt, Christy Fields, Darron Harris, Keith Harris, Larry Neyland Jr., Audrey McClain, Ashley McClain, LonTrell Johnson, Lateefah Johnson and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, alone with a host of family and friends.

                                                      AFTERGLOW

I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done, I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways, of happy times and laughing times and bright sunny days. I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun of happy memories that I leave when this life is done.

This letter is to let you know that on January 4th, 2023, I moved. I received notice from GOD, the chief architect, who informed me that my new mansion was completed and ready for me to move in immediately.  You all know that for the past few years, I have been sending up my  timber, packing up my bags and getting ready to relocate.

There were some minor touch ups and finishes that had to be done with the timber that only the Chief Carpenter, Jesus the Christ could do. Some of the touch ups had to be discarded, and redone, while others were just right for the project.  The final coating to be added to seal the cracks, was to get my family and friends ready for my move, without them.

Well, now that my new home is finished and ready, it is all so beautiful, a sight to behold. It is located in a very exclusive gated estate with pearl columns, streets paved with gold and every day is like Sunday.  I've lived in many communities before my new home was prepared, and none of them can compare to this.

There is peace, joy, and happiness here, with no more pain or fear, strife or discontent. There is only sweet serenity everywhere, I can go on and on about my new home, but I have to go and get fitted for my new wings.  So let me give you all MY NEW ADDRESS;

                                                               VERLIAN HARRIS
