Vincent Lopaz Brooks, 72, also known as “Mad Butcher,” “Maseo,” & “Ali Khufu,” was born February 23, 1949, in Little Rock, Ark. He was the first born of six children to the late Homer and Josephine Brooks.

Vincent confessed and gave his life to Christ at 8th street Missionary Baptist Church at North Little Rock, Ark. He was educated at Jones High in the class of 1967. He also attended University of Central Arkansas, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in business, and Vincent Brooks received a football scholarship to Bishop College. Him and Darnell Dawson were two of the baddest players on the field at Bishop college, where he received his bachelors in religious studies.

Vincent touched everyone’s life who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was a devoted father and husband and grandfather, brother, uncle, battle buddy, and friend. He had a heart of gold and he loved helping others. He was admired for his jokes, compassion and work ethics.

Vincent resided in Augusta, Ga., with his loving wife, Janice Barbara Gay Brooks. They became one on January 9, 1987 in Little Rock, Ark. He served in the Vietnam war, in the First Infantry Division Big Red One, where he became a purple heart recipient.

He was a hard working car sales person for Frank Fletcher Dodge, and Steve Landers, where he was recognized as the top salesperson during his 30 years before retiring.
 

He loved spending time fishing with his children and grandchildren, creating an effective horse racing system, managing many of his companies including MACC, winning dominoes championships, and chili cook offs. He also received many awards including an award from JP Morgan for top salesperson.
 

On Wednesday, December 22, 2021, Vincent Brooks passed away at the age of 72. Going home to be with his late father & mother, Homer and Josephine Brooks; brother, Bruce Books; and son, Leviticus Brooks. Vincent will be forever remembered by his wife, Janice Barbara (Gay) Brooks; son, Eric Brooks; daughter, Lashanna Bruce; (Charlie Cye Bruce Jr.); son, Shermanum Gay; son, Dirregija Gay; son, Jahmesael Gay; daughter, Jasheta Brooks; daughter, Kalendria Brooks; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as his siblings: brother, Lamont Brooks; sister, Damita Brooks Casey; brother, Phil Brooks; sister, Cynthia Brooks; brother, Demetric Fulks; sister, Shemika Brooks; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
 

A walkthrough Visitation will be on Wednesday January 5, 2022, from 1 p.m.-5 p.m. at O.T. Smith Memorial Chapel/Kelly Smith Funeral and Cremation Services, 8424 Kanis Road, Little Rock, Ark., 72204.
 

Funeral Service will be on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at 10 a.m. at the Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, located at 217 North Hazel street, North Little Rock, Ark., 72114.
 

Burial: Thursday, January 6, 2022, at 1 p.m. at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetary, located at 1501 West Maryland Avenue, North Little Rock, Ark., 72120.
 

Repass: Thursday, January 6, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Lindsey’s Hospitality House, located at 207 Curtis Sykes Drive, North LIttle Rock, Ark., 72114.
